Ergonomics and LCD Monitor Arms
Ergonomics
Ergonomics, also known as human factors, is the scientific discipline that seeks to understand and improve human interactions with products, equipment, environments and systems. Drawing upon human biology, psychology, engineering and design, ergonomics aims to develop and apply knowledge and techniques to optimise system performance, whilst protecting the health, safety and well-being of individuals involved.
Why Ergonomics is Important?
Good home and office ergonomics is very important because we are turning into a society that spends more and more hours working and playing at the computer. Sitting at poorly designed workstations can contribute to problems such as Carpal Tunnel Syndrome and repetitive stress injuries (RSI). Bad ergonomics can also cause back and neck pain, frequent headaches, and other related health issues.
If you find your neck or shoulders tense after a day at the computer, you may want to experiment with the position of your monitor.
